Kidulthood Analysis..

Kidulthood is a 2006 British drama film about the life of several teenagers in Ladbroke Grove and Latimer Road area of Inner West London. It was directed by Menhaj Huda and written by Noel Clarke, who also stars in the film and directed the sequel, Adulthood. I decided to analyse this film because it deals with many modern issues experienced by teenages today. For example; teenage relationships, abuse, drugs, gang warfare, sexual relationships, pregnancy and suicide. If my film was directed at a target audience of younger adults and teenagers it would be easy for them to relate to many of the issues within my film. Another thing I noticed throughout the film was the heavy use of taboo language, again this is something that appeals the the teenage/younger adult catagory. Throughout the film they use non-diegetic soundtracks to create suspension, build tension and to help portray the mood to the audience.
